“Screech” Samuel Powers. Sound familiar? How many people would remember the real person behind the character who actually made the character popular on the sitcom “Saved by the Bell” between the years 1990 and 2000? Dustin Diamond was his name and he stuck to the show for almost 13 years, continuing to play Screech in “Saved by the Bell: College Years.” This show was originally called “Good Morning Miss Bliss” and also starred Hayley Mills. In Stuff magazine issues of May 2006 he was voted as the 3rd most annoying former child star that the public would want to punch in the face. Danny Bonaduce and Corey Feldman were the two stars that beat him.
Born in San Jose, California on 7th January 1977, he is 32 years old today. His first job was that of working as a mannequin in a departmental store. His other jobs included appearances on the 5th season of the Celebrity Fit Club where he appeared to rebel against any and every one of the tasks he was given although he lost 30 pounds by the end of it. He also had done some work as a stand up comedian. He went on the Howard Stern Show on 13th June 2006 and claimed that he was about to lose his home, although his wife claimed that it was all a publicity stunt. The Ford Motor Company filed a law suit against him in November 2008 as he was not able to pay his car loan and he was also sued by the state of Wisconsin for failure to file income tax.
His latest plan is to write a book about growing up. He currently stays with his fianc
